Payment in Lieu of Transportation

In accordance with RC 3327.02, the board of education of a city, exempted village, or local school district may determine that it is impractical to transport a pupil who is eligible for transportation to and from a school under section 3327.01 of the Revised Code.

If you have a student who is not being provided transportation and is attending an accredited non-public school that is within the 30-minute transportation limit, you may apply for payment in-lieu-of transportation.  If you qualify, you will be eligible to receive the state-approved rate for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Send a letter containing the student’s name, grade, school he/she is attending, and your name and address to:
