Wildcats LEAD, our 6th grade leadership group, is partnering with Sole Hope, an organization whose mission is to help those in Uganda suffering from foot related diseases caused by jiggers. Jiggers are parasites that burrow into the feet and hands of children and elderly adults. These jiggers make it so children may not be able to attend school, play, or even walk.
Our 6th grade students in the Wildcats LEAD group will be cutting denim and plastic that will be sent to Uganda to make the shoes. Wildcats LEAD is looking for donations. Ms. Isabella was kind enough to get us started with the shoe kit (which provides the pattern for the shoes we will be cutting as well as the financial contribution for the operational costs for the first 10 pairs of shoes to be shipped to Uganda, made in Uganda, as well as the transporting and delivering to those in need). Each pair of shoes (after the first 10 we cut) require us to donate $10 per pair to cover the above costs for those additional shoes.
If you would like to support our 6th grade leaders in their efforts with this service project, please contact Miss Campailla (email@example.com) or Miss Castilow (firstname.lastname@example.org) on ways you can help!
