O. H. Somers students are scheduled for only a half day of school on Friday, October 31st due to a morning teacher inservice.
Students should plan to arrive at school between 12:30 - 12:45 on October 31st with costumes on, ready to begin the Halloween parade and activities.
Student costumes should be appropriate to the school setting (please leave weapon type props at home), costumes that might be suitable for a sixth grade student could be overwhelming for a kindergartner. For safety reasons, students are not permitted to wear inflatable costumes on this day.
The parade will start at 1:15 with classroom activities afterwards.
Parents are asked to park at Lions Park and walk up to the school to watch the students parade around O.H.Somers. More details will be shared with parents via email.
In case of rain, the parade will be videotaped for viewing on the district website.
